Cash flow for fashion brands in the UAE
Sales are good, but there is no cash for the next drop. In the UAE this usually comes from the same few things: marketplace payouts that arrive weeks after the sale, returns and cash on delivery, and buying that is not tied to the season. I find where the money goes in your numbers and build a cash flow you can see months ahead.
When you need it
- Your money is in transit at marketplaces while the next collection must be paid
- Returns and cash on delivery make every month unpredictable
- Summer is quiet, but rent, payroll and stock costs keep running
- You buy for Ramadan, Eid or DSF without a cash plan
- Profit on paper, empty account in reality
Why it happens
A clothing brand pays for fabric and production months before the item sells. Marketplaces such as Noon, Namshi, Amazon.ae and Ounass add a payout delay on top, and returns stretch the cycle further.
Without a payment calendar and buying tied to a sales plan, a cash gap is almost guaranteed, even in a strong season.
What I do
- 01
Cash-flow review
Actual money in and out for recent months, including marketplace payout terms and returns
- 02
Payment calendar
Every payment and receipt 3–6 months ahead, so gaps are visible early
- 03
Buying to plan
A buying calendar built around Ramadan, Eid, Dubai Shopping Festival and White Friday
- 04
Stock and markdowns
Rules for slow stock and planned markdowns instead of panic sales
- 05
Financial model
Sales, margin, payroll, marketing, 5% VAT and corporate tax in one model
What you get
- A predictable cash flow, months ahead
- Buying to a plan, not to the current bank balance
- Less cash frozen in stock
- Decisions based on numbers
Format and price
We start with a consultation (AED 3,700) or the Start package: an operations and finance audit with a prioritised roadmap, from AED 18,500, 2–4 weeks. A turnkey system build is the Full cycle, from AED 73,500 or AED 37,000 a month, 4–8 months. If there is no growth within 3 months, we part ways without penalties.
Questions
01Why do fashion brands in the UAE run out of cash when sales grow?
Because production is paid months before sales, and marketplace payouts and returns delay the money even further. Growth needs more buying, so the gap gets deeper. A payment calendar and buying tied to a sales plan fix this.
02Do you work with brands in Dubai remotely?
Yes, through calls, shared access to sales, stock and accounting data, and weekly checkpoints. Dubai is GMT+4, one hour ahead of Moscow.
03Do you handle VAT registration?
Registration is for your accountant or a local corporate service provider. I make sure the financial model and pricing account for 5% VAT and corporate tax.
