Buying and stock planning for fashion brands in Dubai
The UAE calendar is different: Ramadan and Eid, Dubai Shopping Festival, White Friday, and a slow summer in between. Buy too late and you miss the peak; buy too early and you sit in a cash gap all summer. A buying matrix and production calendar turn this into a plan.
When you need it
- Best-sellers run out in the first week of a peak
- Other styles sit until the sale
- The collection arrives after the season starts
- Buying volume depends on the bank balance
- No clear logic for styles, colours and sizes
Why it happens
A buying mistake in apparel costs twice: cash is frozen in unsold stock, and you lose revenue on the styles that sell.
A buying matrix sets the collection structure (categories, breadth and depth, size curve) from sales data and plans. A production calendar counts back from the start of each peak so stock is on the shelf when demand arrives.
What I do
- 01
Sales analysis
What sold, when and how much, by category, style and size
- 02
Matrix structure
Categories, breadth and depth, core versus trend styles
- 03
Production calendar
Development, fabric, production and delivery dates, counted back from each peak
- 04
Cash check
Buying is checked against the payment calendar so it does not create a gap
- 05
Reorder rules
When and how much to reorder best-sellers, and when to stop
What you get
- Stock on the shelf for every peak
- Less leftover stock and fewer lost sales
- Buying that does not create cash gaps
- A plan your team can run
Format and price
We start with a consultation (AED 3,700) or the Start package: an operations and finance audit with a prioritised roadmap, from AED 18,500, 2–4 weeks. A turnkey system build is the Full cycle, from AED 73,500 or AED 37,000 a month, 4–8 months. If there is no growth within 3 months, we part ways without penalties.
Questions
01What is a buying matrix?
A plan of the collection structure: which categories, how many styles, colours and sizes, and in what depth, built from sales data and the brand plan.
02Does it work for a young brand without sales history?
Yes. At the start the matrix is built on hypotheses and plans, then adjusted after the first sales.
03How do you plan around Ramadan and the summer?
The production calendar counts back from each peak, and the payment calendar shows how much cash the summer needs, so buying for the next peak does not leave you short.
